Come audition and join McMagical Productions for Its 2020 All Ages Production - Seussical! "Oh, the thinks you can think" when Dr. Seuss's best-loved characters collide in an unforgettable musical adventure! Seussical is a fantastical, magical, reminds us all of the powers of friendship, family, and community in true Dr. Seuss fashion. Seussical is fun for the whole family!

Auditions:
Daytime Audition: Sunday November 17th from 10:00AM to 12:00PM
Evening Audition: Monday November 18th from 7:00PM to 10:00PM
All auditions will take place at the Ritz Theatre, 915 White Horse Pike, Haddon Township, NJ 08107

Please prepare 16-32 measures of music in the style of the show (songs from the show will be permitted). An accompanist and CD/MP3/iPod player will be provided. Please bring sheet music and/or backtrack in your preferred key. No A Capella auditions permitted. You may also be asked to read from the script. Be prepared to move for a dance audition.

​

A rehearsal calendar will be provided at auditions for each auditioner to mark their respective conflicts. Rehearsals will generally take place Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings, with some exceptions. Tech rehearsals will be February 8, 2020 through February 11, 2020 with performances February 13, 2020 through February 15, 2020 at the Ritz Theatre.

This is a non-stipend production and there is no fee to audition or if you are cast.

The Cat in the Hat
Our story's omniscient narrator, he is fun loving and enjoys rhyming. Pops up throughout the story to help the audience. Wise and attentive. Must be animated.

Jojo
The Mayor's son, he is a Who that is always finding trouble. Bright, creative, and inadvertently mischievous. Possesses a wildly expansive imagination and finds solace in his friendship with Horton.

Horton the Elephant
Our story's main character, he is a compassionate and gentle elephant. Commonly misunderstood because of his larger size. He is protective and loving of all creatures in the jungle.

Gertrude McFuzz
Horton's one-feathered-tail bird neighbor. Gertrude is sweet and timid. Though kind and loyal, she is also self-conscious of her shortfalls.

Mayzie LaBird
The most magnificent bird in all of the jungle and not afraid to say it. Oblivious to her self-centered ways, she relies on her talent of manipulation, and intoxicating beauty, to navigate her way through life.

The Sour Kangaroo
The 'leader' of the jungle. She is loud, brassy, and stubbornly set in her ways. A caring mother, but unabashedly sassy and soulful.
